The Ravens had their backs up against the wall in the fourth quarter following a 33-yard run by 49ers running back Frank Gore. The ball had been placed on the Ravens’ 7-yard line, and the Niners trailed by five points. The Niners’ playcalling has been dissected, but the Ravens stood tall for four plays and never floundered. "You know, honestly, the most exciting thing ever was the conversations that we were having at the goal line," Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis said. "Nobody ever panicked — everybody looked at each other, and there was no panic."

Wait, what happened? It seems we still really don't know. But the facts are this: After Colin Kaepernick was sacked on a second down in the third quarter, half of the lights in the Superdome suddenly went out. Players, coaches, stadium personnel and most of the nation sat around confused for more than 30 minutes while the problem was being fixed. When the lights came back on, it seemed to wake up the 49ers, who staged an impressive rally and almost won the game.

Trailing by eight points in the fourth quarter, Kaepernick piloted a five-play, 76-yard scoring drive, which was capped his 15-yard scramble into the end zone. Although the Niners captured the momentum at this point in the game, the Ravens held sturdy against a 2-point conversion.

Who said special teams wouldn’t be a factor on Super Bowl Sunday? Jacoby Jones (No. 12, pictured) had other ideas. The veteran return man fielded the kick in the Ravens' end zone and raced 108 yards for a touchdown, which set an NFL postseason record.

Don't lie, you didn't go to the bathroom during the halftime show this year. It's OK, because Beyonce put on a show for the ages. From her explosive opening to her reunion with Destiny's Child, things couldn't have gone better.

Jacoby Jones broke free on a third-and-10, and Joe Flacco threw up a prayer. Jones came down with the pass, and quickly realized he was never touched down. Jones (No. 12, pictured) sprang to his feet, shook a defender and coasted into the end zone. The Ravens looked to break this game open as they took a 21-3 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Colin Kaepernick had been so dangerous this postseason, one might wonder if the bright lights on the Super Bowl stage rattled the second-year QB. With seven minutes remaining in the second quarter, Kaepernick lofted a deep pass intended for Randy Moss, but it was Ravens veteran safety Ed Reed (No. 20, pictured) who hauled it in. The Ravens weren’t able to capitalize as they went on to attempt a fake field goal, but the interception did sway the momentum in Baltimore’s favor.

Did you bet the over on the length of the national anthem? You won! Alicia Keys' rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner" seemed to last almost months, but it was sweet and soulful. What a way to start a game.
