Matt Cassel
He started this season far removed from NFL relevancy and was the guy who had not started a game since high school. Now he's the most intriguing free agent QB next offseason. The switch went on after New England's Week 4 bye, and he has thrown for 200+ yards in seven of his eight games since emerging as New England's game manager immediately after Tom Brady got hurt. Cassel ranks in the NFL's top 10 in passing yards, completion percentage and QB rating. He's still learning to manage the pass rush, having been sacked an NFL-high 34 times. But the most important number might be 26, his age.
