News: DeCoud has signed a two-year deal with the Panthers, Carolina's team website reports. Impact: DeCoud, who registered 76 stops (62 solo) and six interceptions en route to a 2012 Pro Bowl selection, was released by the Falcons after posting just 65 tackles (44 solo) and no interceptions this past season. However, now on board with NFC South rivals Carolina, DeCoud could immediately assume a starting safety role given speculation surrounding the Panthers considering releasing Charles Godfrey for salary cap reasons. Coming off a torn Achilles, Godfrey's situation has yet to play out, but nonetheless, DeCoud should benefit from playing in a stout Panthers defense, which could allow him to improve on last season's statistical drop-off.(RotoWire, )
