I am a LSU bot make no mistake about it. Russell was only as good as his supporting cast at LSU. We in tiger land laughed at raiders (Al Davis) for paying him this much. Take note Garcia WILL BE the starter before mid-season. I hope #2 has stashed some of that money. unemployment is bad now days.

jamarcus is a young qb and is still learning the game,I think he is pulling himself and the team together and i look forward to next season.And give Cable some credit he is the man,If Al Davis cuts him loose he is a bigger fool then i thought.

Let me clarify so ya'll won't think I'm bashing. I am a seriously diehard Raider fan and always will be.<br />As a Raider, JaMarcus Russell isn't worth the string it takes to lace up a football. Calling him essentially a rookie is no excuse. The guy is in his SECOND year, and even missing training camp last year (stupid enough), he still should be playing far better ball than this. Even a QB with a rathole team around him will still show flashes of what he could be with better teammates. This kid has shown less flash than I get touching a doorknob in winter! He just doesn't have it, not for NFL ball.<br />If Al Davis would listen to someone other than the ringing in his own ears, maybe the Raiders can become again what they once were: FEARED!

6 ft 6 at full back hell no. lets wait awhile before that. let admit it he does not have the best supporting cast at oakland and the coaching change by force does not help either . yes they are still able to win games but they need some stability as fr who will take the reins next year. I hope it is someone that can help them win football games as a team and not just focus on one guy

If he makes some strides before the end of the year I think next year will be the year he starts to contribute to victories.

JaMarcus Russell is not good and would not be good with quality wideouts. He's a mix of Vince Young and Kordell Stewart...lot's of talent, but not cut out for QB. They should move him to fullback.

i am not a raiders fan, but if jamarcus russell had some quality wideouts, he has the potential to make a bang in the nfl

For a guy who is essentially a rookie QB, I think Jamarcus is doing well, especially if you consider the O-line he's playing behind and the lack of quality WR's.

these guys are saying that russell is mostly struggling. but did not throw and INt in 08 hell os far so good. i know he has completed 51 percent of his passes but if the Wrs are dropping some of these hell you just cant blame the QB. yes jamarcus russel is the best thing going for them and you can at least say that they were more competitive than they were two years ago. bar none

Russel is the best thing going for that team, they need another GM they should get some wins this year.
