It humors me how people that have never been in the pros can throw verbal attacks aboout someone like Tom Brady who has easily proven his greatness.
Having said that, I was quite impressed with Cassell and I'm sure 5 years from now the Pats will wish they had kept him. I hope Brady can come back and N.E. develops another great back-up.

First of all the team did NOT make the playoffs. Granted 11 wins is a "good" season and Matt Cassell did an excellent job filling in.....he was no Tom Brady. remember what Tom has done with just average recievers. We will see this year what kind of player payton manning is. I believe he is certainly one of the best out there but again he has had great recievers for the better part of his career. There will always be outside factors like how good is your defense (Big ben), and weather or not you have awesome recievers. But when I see Tom on the field I know one thing....He is a WINNER!! period. I dont care if Moss goes down, or if welker gets hurt...Brady will find a way to win. And I know the team has this culture of winning instilled in it, and I think in large part its because Tom Brady brought it to the team.

GO PATRIOTS! TOM BRADY OWNS

If any one thinks that Tom Brady is a whimp and shouldn't return then they must really be idiots. The guy's record is 100-27 he has only lost 27 games total in 8 years, he has had 6 playoffs out of 7, he has played in 5AFC championship games 4 Superbowls 3 rings. He threw 50 td's last year and only 8 int. He broke like a record after record in 2007. The years he didn't have star receivers he was still brilliant and the year that he did he took the team to 18-0 and it would have been 19-0 if Eli had have either got sacked on the 3rd and 5 or threw an incompletion on the HAIL MARY throw to Tyree, or if A Sammuel could have held the interception, or if the coaches would have kicked the fg on the 4th down, so without a doubt Brady and Manning really stands alone as the Greastest qb's and if any one thinks that Bill Bellichick would let go of talent like that then they must really be slow. Brady is recovering very well and ith his attitude he will be back in full swing during nxt season. He's only like 31 or 32 so he has like most likely 7years left. The first 7 brought 4 suberbowls, the nxt 7 could bring 4more. If Brady is traded then it would come back and haunt the Pats no doubt. And if you want Brady in the NFC with a team that your not rooting for then, good luck for you trying to win a division against Tom Brady and esspecially trying the wipe him out in the playoffs, something only P.Manning in ot or Eli on a hailmary has been able to do.

True, Tom is out for this season. average recovery for an ACL is 6 months. However, there is no reason to doubt he'll be back on the field next season. Physically he'll be ready. If he's already walking with no limp 2 months post op, he's solid for an excellant recovery. it's usually an issue involving confidence in that knee and they'll slap a brace on him and he'll be fine. no matter what Cassell does, they're not giving up on Tom.

Tom wont be seen at foxboro untill next year. They would never put him on the field until's he 100%. Only a small percentage of athletes actually come back from those surgeries. You have to have phenomenal work ethic to rebuild your body. tom will be tip top for 09. Patriots are finding out who they are now, no more asante, LM, harrison and of course Brady. this weeks game will be intense.

Yea, I expect Tom to back to 100% and on the field sunday. Even though he is on injured reserve, im sure they will make an exception for Tom. I mean common, who wouldnt.

Yeah sure, as long as he can keep the IV with antibiotics in, sure why not? Give hime wheelchair access to the field, maybe have a lineman push him around, and MVP here we go.

Come on... ok first of all he is on injury reserve, you can't come back during the season even if some messiah came and healed (Can I get an AMEN!?!)

Also, he has had multiple surgeries, and a huge infection that probably produced enough puss to fill a jello cup. Even if he was physically able, I highly doubt he would feel well enough to play a game of Madden, let alone play actual football.

But aside from those reason, suuuuurrre.
