No team in the NFL, even playing at its best, could have stopped the Packers last Thursday night. It is scary how good this offense can be, and the defense is better than it showed.

It might not have been as one-sided a game as some expected, but given the things that went against San Diego early, this was a game previous Chargers teams might have lost. They got better as a team Sunday.

This offense is in midseason form. Tom Brady hit four receivers for more than six receptions each, and none of them was named Chad Ochocinco. The defense will need to improve, but you know it will under Bill Belichick.

The way the Ravens beat down the Steelers, given the normally close nature of these games, cannot be overstated. I'm on record as saying this might be the best Ravens team ever, and I still might have underestimated them.

With one more yard, the Saints could have been on the winning side Thursday night. Just like the Packers, the Saints' defense is better than its performance, but that's what happens when two of the better offenses are on display.

Philly began to answer some questions about its retooled offensive line, young linebacker corps and first-time defensive coordinator. But the Eagles are still very much a work in progress. Michael Vick showed once again why he is a unique athlete.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers usually rebound from a loss quickly, but because was to the Ravens, it might sting just a little longer. It is hard to imagine, but the Steelers did not look ready to play. That won't happen again.

The Jets showed resiliency in a highly emotional playoff-type atmosphere. In the end, they needed Tony Romo's mistakes to win the game, but a win is still a win. In case you haven't heard, cornerback Darrelle Revis is a difference maker.

Quarterback Matt Stafford and top target Calvin Johnson were impressive, but what was unexpected was Detroit's defensive effort. The Lions proved they are more than just Ndamukong Suh and the front seven. This is a team that will continue to get better.

The Cowboys, like every team in the NFC East, will go as far as their quarterback takes them. Tony Romo doesn't deserve all the blame for the Week 1 loss, but there is no denying he needs to perform better in crucial situations.

Yes, this is a huge jump for a team that has won only one game, but the Redskins displayed an improved defense and a solid running attack. Rex Grossman has a history of being inconsistent, but the veteran quarterback played well Sunday.
