Surprisingly, Green Bay was outgained by the Vikings, 435 to 421. But it didn't matter. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers couldn't have been much more efficient. He was 24 of 30 for 335 yards with three touchdown passes. Letting the Vikings stay close, albeit in Minnesota, and moving the ball the way they did does give the rest of the NFC hope.

It is not fair to dismiss the performance on Sunday night just because of who they were playing: 62 points is 62 points. Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles are proving to be perfect complements to one another, and the New Orleans defense got its identity back by forcing three turnovers.

The Steelers remain near the top of the league in most defensive categories, but it just doesn't feel that way. They are not all that different from last year's Super Bowl team that was not dominant in any offensive category but was very effective nonetheless. An interesting two weeks at home against the Patriots and the Ravens.

Have to drop the Chargers, but there is no shame in losing on the East Coast to a good team. It was disappointing to give up an 11-point lead, and totally botching the two-minute drill is curious. The Chargers' secondary got eaten up by Plaxico Burress in the red zone.

The Falcons found their stride with their game plan in Detroit, finishing with 129 yards rushing and playing punishing defense. Tony Gonzalez settled into his position as the second-leading receiver in the history of the game. Roddy White made maybe the best catch of the year at the back of the end zone.

The Lions' defense has been run through the past two weeks, and that has to be a concern for coach Jim Schwartz. Likewise, the lack of a running game, or a runner for that matter, may prove to be a problem for the Lions, who are coming up on a difficult part of their schedule.

In the next month, New York has a chance to do some major damage within the division. They have two games against the Bills and a rematch with the Patriots. In order to win those games, they are going to have to find a way to generate pressure without bringing six and seven men.

It was a good week's work even in a bye week. The Bengals picked up potentially two first-round draft picks by trading a player they had pretty much written off while sitting at 4-2 with a three-game winning streak. The Bengals have a great chance of improving to 6-2 over the next two weeks, but then they have to face the Steelers and Ravens back to back. If they can split that tandem, they will be in business.

The "Dream Team" can reclaim the title if the Eagles are able to sweep the Cowboys and Bears over the next two weeks. They are feeling better about their defense after beating the Redskins, but that may seem less impressive after watching the 'Skins lose to the Panthers. They will still need to turn their games into track meets.

They have a favorable two-week schedule (bye, Broncos at home) to get Carson Palmer ready for the the season-defining Thursday night matchup with the Chargers on Nov. 10. Must not get away from the formula of playing good defense and running the ball. Is T.O. on the horizon? It would be fitting.

Not sure that it matters whether John Beck or Rex Grossman is the QB right now. Tight end Fred Davis continues to be a factor in the passing game, but the Redskins have to run the ball to win and they have not done that the past two games. Defense was a little disappointing against the Panthers.

Let's keep it basic. The Broncos got a win on the road with a big fourth-quarter comeback. The first 55 minutes leave you questioning the future of Tim Tebow and the Broncos, but coach John Fox and the Broncos fans will take the wins when they come.

Pretty impressive performance against the Ravens in front of a national audience Monday night. Forcing early turnovers and winning the field-position battle in the first half was the major difference in this game. Great win for Jack Del Rio and his coaching staff.

Giving up 253 yards rushing to a rookie who has done nothing up to this point will bring into serious question what the Rams are doing. Steve Spagnuolo's credentials will likely begin to be called into question, given his experience on the defensive side of the ball. In fairness, he has been dealt a bad hand with lack of talent, injury and schedule.
