NICKED-UP NICKS TO MISS 2 WEEKS
by PAUL SCHWARTZ , The New York Post
That's the thought-process of the Giants after seeing rookie receiver Hakeem Nicks carted off to the locker room during Sunday's 23-17 victory over the Redskins.
Nicks suffered a sprained left foot, and an MRI confirmed the sprained ligament was the extent of the damage. He will miss at least two weeks and then be re-evaluated.
"That will be tough for us," Steve Smith said. "We're not that deep and he's a great receiver, so hopefully he gets back."
Nicks caught two passes for 18 yards in his Giants debut and his development process comes to a screeching halt as he mends.
"They are going to have to be temporarily shut down," Tom Coughlin said.
RB Danny Ware dislocated his elbow returning the opening kickoff. He will be out at least two weeks.

The injury news on CB Aaron Ross (hamstring) is not encouraging. He said he is "not healthy yet" and isn't ready to return to practice. That means Ross - who turns 27 today - is in line to miss a second straight game. CB Kevin Dockery (hamstring) sounded more upbeat about his return.

There are two cuts coming for the Giants . One player must go when LB Michael Boley officially ends his suspension and another player will have to be removed from the roster when the Giants add a running back (to replace Ware), most likely signing Allen Patrick off the practice squad.

WR Mario Manningham kept the Football from his first career touchdown catch. "I might give it to my mom," he said.

Coughlin took the blame for the Redskins scoring a TD on a fake field goal. "It was an all-out block," he said. "That is my call. Put that one on me. It is not on the players."
