Bad teams are filled with flops this season

You can uncover your eyes, Bills fans, the team is off this week. So are three more terrible teams in the Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and Cleveland Browns.

The fantasy contributions of players on those teams won't be missed.

Add in Tampa Bay, Detroit, Kansas City, Washington and Tennessee and that makes nine teams with a combined 12 wins.

With rare exceptions, that means more than one quarter of the teams have minimal fantasy value, a remarkable number in a 32-team league.

Here's a look at some of the fantasy contributions from some of those who lag behind.

*Tennessee Titans: Running back Chris Johnson is the ultimate exception. He leads the NFL in rushing yards with 824, thanks largely to monster games (425 yards, four touchdowns) in Weeks Two and Eight. But those are the only two weeks in which Johnson has scored. His inconsistency has been a killer for fantasy owners. The Titans' leading receiver in catches and yards, rookie Kenny Britt, went undrafted in most leagues, and hasn't scored a touchdown. Quarterback Kerry Collins was finally benched in favor of Vince Young.

*Washington Redskins: Injuries have limited running back Clinton Portis to 490 yards and one touchdown, which ranks 28th among running backs in ESPN scoring. Embattled quarterback Jason Campbell ranks 20th in quarterback scoring. He's thrown for 1,481 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Receiver Santana Moss has 453 yards and two touchdowns, which have made him a decent option as a No. 3 receiver.

*Kansas City Chiefs: Running back Larry Johnson's got an ugly demeanor and even uglier numbers (358 yards, zero touchdowns). Receiver Dwayne Bowe (23 catches, 301 yards, four TDs) deserves a spot in the lineup, but his numbers haven't lived up to his owners' expectations. Quarterback Matt Cassel probably wishes he had stayed in New England. After missing the season opener, Cassel has thrown for fewer than 150 yards in three starts and just 994 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions.

*Detroit Lions: Kevin Smith has provided good value for his owners with 393 yards and three touchdowns, but his more impressive numbers are in the passing game, where he's got 23 catches and 192 yards. As for receiver Calvin Johnson? His totals the past four weeks: one catch, 2 yards. Injury has taken what was the start to a decent fantasy season and turned it dismal. Johnson's numbers aren't totally surprising considering rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford has struggled, throwing for just three touchdowns.

*Tampa Bay Buccaneers: The three-headed rushing attack of Cadillac Williams, Ernest Graham and Derrick Ward has hurt the numbers of all three, with Williams (310 yards, two touchdowns) the best of the bunch. Tight end Kellen Winslow (31 catches, 295 yards, four touchdowns) has been solid, but receiver Antonio Bryant (229 yards, two touchdowns) has been hampered by injuries and inconsistent quarterback play. Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman will become the third player to start at the position when the Bucs return from their bye.

*Cleveland Browns: Here's all you need to know about the Browns: Their defense has produced 44 fantasy points. The next closest total to that is the 36 of running back Jamal Lewis, who has yet to score a touchdown.

*St. Louis Rams: Running back Steven Jackson soldiers on with 784 rushing yards, although he's only scored one touchdown this season. Kicker Josh Brown is next in fantasy scoring with 37 points.

*Oakland Raiders: Running back Darren McFadden could very well win biggest disappointment of the 2009 fantasy season. Kicker Sebastian Janikowski is the team's leading fantasy point-getter, with 50.

*Buffalo Bills : Quarterback Trent Edwards' fantasy value was slim before his concussion. Now it's none. Running back Marshawn Lynch's return from suspension killed two fantasy seasons -- his own and that of Fred Jackson. Receivers Lee Evans and Terrell Owens are the two biggest, and most expensive, busts as they've combined for 46 catches, 612 yards and four touchdowns. Their 88 points trails five individual receivers. Like the Browns, the Bills' defense is its biggest point-getter, but even that's a disappointment because the return game hasn't chipped in its usual touchdown.
