In a postgame meltdown, then-Cardinals coach Dennis Green declared, "They are who we thought they were," which is still a favorite on YouTube.

Defensive end Alex Brown would appreciate a less dramatic victory this time.

"I don?t want to go through another game like that," he said. "But, if we have the same outcome, then hey, let?s do it again. But I?d rather not ? put my heart through (the) stress. That was a tough game."

The Bears won seven of their next nine games en route to Super Bowl XLI.

"It was a big win for the defense and the special teams, because we were down, and we fought back," linebacker Lance Briggs said. "It was one of those defining moments, and to me will always be one of the best games I?ve ever played in."

Old friends: Bears coach Lovie Smith and Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner go back to their days together with the Rams from 2001-03, when Smith was the defensive coordinator and Warner was the trigger man in Mike Martz?s "Greatest Show on Turf."

"Kurt is a lifetime friend," Smith said. "It was great being with him in St. Louis. He?s competitor, of course a great player and all that, great guy. After the game, I?m looking forward to seeing him then, (and I) cheer for him whenever they?re not playing us. But this week it?ll be a little bit different."

Injury update: Wide receiver Devin Hester did not practice Thursday for the second day in a row because of an ankle injury suffered during Sunday?s victory over the Browns. Hester was walking gingerly Thursday, although he was moving better than on Wednesday.

Coach Lovie Smith hopes to have the team?s leading receiver back on the practice field today, and he?s expected to play Sunday.

Safety Danieal Manning (back) was limited Thursday, but linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder), defensive linemen Tommie Harris (knee, Israel Idonije (knee), Adewale Ogunleye (ankle) and Matt Toeaina (calf), tight end Greg Olsen (ankle) and safety Craig Steltz (biceps) were all full participants.

Honorary media guy: During Adewale Ogunleye?s session at the podium in the media room Thursday, linebacker Lance Briggs chimed in with this question: "Can Kurt Warner beat the Bears with his feet?"

"Uh, no, Kurt?s a good guy," Ogunleye said, "but he?s not the best running quarterback in the league."

Warner who has 9 rushing attempts for a total of zero yards, has been sacked 14 times this season, 1 less than Jay Cutler.
