Quarter-by-quarter

First quarter

Key stat: The Colts recorded 12 first downs while the Texans had none. The home team also handily won the yardage battle, outgaining the visitors 191-12.

Key player: Peyton Manning was 19-of-25 for 179 yards and a touchdown.

Big play: Manning hit Joseph Addai with a short pass out of the backfield, and the running back weaved through the Texans' defense for a 7-yard touchdown.

Second quarter

Key stat: Texans finally got that first drive, but it took 22 minutes and 17 seconds in actual game time to do so.

Key player: Bernard Pollard made sure the Colts didn't gain any more separation with an interception of Manning with less than a minute left in the half. Kris Brown's 56-yard field goal seconds later made the pick look even bigger.

Big play: Schaub hit Ryan Moats for a 9-yard gain just before the two-minute warning, but he fumbled before being tackled. Indianapolis challenged the ruling, and the officials ruled it was a fumble recovered by the Colts.

Third quarter

Key stat: Time of possession was ridiculously one-sided - 13:08 for the Texans , 1:52 for the Colts.

Key player: Schaub finally settled in, completing eight of 10 passes for 122 yards and a touchdown. He guided the Texans on consecutive touchdown drives.

Big play: On third and 7 at Indianapolis' 40, Schaub felt the pressure and fled the pocket, scrambling 19 yards for the first down and extending the drive, which ended with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Moats.

Fourth quarter

Key stat: Despite taking the lead in the quarter, the Texans managed just 1 rushing yard.

Key player: Addai, ran for 48 of his 63 yards in the final quarter, including a 2-yard run that pushed the Colts back ahead.

Big play: Pollard struck again, getting his second interception when the Colts tried to get tricky, using Reggie Wayne on a reverse to throw a pass.
