Philadelphia Eagles Inside Slant

Part of the reason for that was Reid had hidden the injury from the media for nearly a month before finally revealing it, which only magnified it when it finally surfaced. Another reason is McNabb's injury history. He has missed 15 games over the last three years with various injuries, including a torn ACL, a sports hernia and a sprained ankle.
But the 31-year-old McNabb insists he will be just fine by the start of training camp. In fact, many of the Eagles' receivers and running backs will be headed out to McNabb's home in Chandler, Ariz., in early July to work out with the quarterback. McNabb said he will be throwing out there.
"Definitely," he said. "The arm is fine. This thing was totally overblown. I just had some tightness in my arm from all the throwing (in minicamp and OTAs).
"With the injury, if you don't say anything, then people think it's bigger than what it is. And if you do say something, some people still think you're hiding something. It's a no-win situation, and I've been part of them for a long time."
McNabb said the time he will spend in Arizona throwing to his teammates will be extremely beneficial heading into training camp.
"It's important because we're going right into camp, and we've already been working on different things," he said. "The thing I like the most about it, though, is the bonding. I've been out there eight years, and I've always felt we build chemistry out there. I've learned from guys like Doug Flutie and John Elway that you should spend time with guys away from football.
"We spend time together with our families. We get to train, and the wives and kids go to the water park, the mall or arcade, and then we get together at night for dinner."
