--Bucs general manager Bruce Allen met with Todd France, the agent for first-round pick Aqib Talib, earlier this week in Tampa. Talks are believed to be progressing and Allen has never had a holdout since coming to the Bucs. Talib, second-round pick Dexter Jackson, third-rounder Jeremy Zuttah and quarterback Josh Johnson remain unsigned.

--Miami QB Josh McCown needed six stitches in the index finger on his throwing hand recently when his brother Luke accidentally cut Josh's finger instead of firewood. The two were using a chain saw to cut the firewood. The injury was not serious.

Luke McCown is competing with Brian Griese for the Bucs' No. 2 quarterback job. Josh McCown is the Dolphins' most experienced quarterback heading into camp and is competing with John Beck and rookie Chad Henne.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I didn't come here to be a third-down back." -- RB Warrick Dunn.
