VOTE: NFL's best fan bases
No political candidate can win a campaign without a strong foundation, energy and passion for the candidate's platform.
It's no different in the NFL where every team enjoys its own energetic fan base, providing the backbone of the team's very persona.
One Bleacher Report pundit made his opinion public. Where do you stand on the issue?

Muzz77, <br /><br />Buffalo deserves its reptuation as a rabid fan base. It may not be the biggest, but by God they are dedicated. That city shuts down on Sundays for a Bills game. If you go to any public place on game day, the game is ALWAYS playing the place is next to empty. Ralph Wilson Stadium holds 74,000 people and sells out often. Only Jacksonville, Arrowhead, Cowboys, FedEx and Giants Stadiums are bigger. Buffalo accomplishes that with a market that is the 3rd smallest in the NFL (larger than only Jacksonville & Green Bay). Not to mention that they fill that large, open air stadium in a small market in some of the worst winter weather in the league.

Hey, Buffalo has nothing to do - perhaps maybe you should get out and explore the city before you say something like that. There is a TON of stuff to do there. Art, Theater, History, world class museums (art, history & science), access to a great lake, beaches, skiing, snowmobiling, great hunting, fishing, and hiking, great biking, numerous parks, lawn fetes, and festivals about every other weekend. Oh and Niagara Falls is only 20 minutes away. Just because you don't leave the hotel when your in the city, doesn't mean there is nothing to do.

Alaskan Steeler<br /><br />steelers were notorious duirng the 70s, especially their whole offensive line of using steroids to gain an advantage. Sure sounds like the inspirational American work ethic...cheat your way to the top!

And also, I think with selling out every game since 1972 and having over 10,000 people on the season ticket waiting list, Steelers fans are the best.

I was in Tampa, Florida all last week, and I saw more Steelers stuff then Bucs.

The fans poll says it all above...instead of Fox making this Shi$ up.

I question Fox's ability to take polls, 99% of them are in left field. Another screwed poll....Travel to any team the Steelers are playing and you will see why the Steelers are number 1.

What a jip, other. Who is that. We have to vote for the ones that they want us to believe. Carolina Panthers have a great fan base. I started with them the first year and travled to Clemson, which was 4 and ahalf hours away. Then to charlotte ,3and a half hours away. The fans trreat visiting fans great. We joke around with them, but don't fuss or cuss at them as some other fans do. the next would be Green Bay. In the trip there, during the playoffs, the fans told us the tips to keep warm and dry, and not get chaffed

Seahawks are definitely in the top three if not the top. Loudest fans in the NFL. Can anyone say "East Coast Bias"?

Packer fans are almost as loyal, but that doesn't mean I don't still hate their guts....Spoken like a typical Bear fan who's been puncked by the Packers for years......

"Yes, you can argue they are on this list out of pure boredom ? what else is there to do in Buffalo?"<br /><br /> Whoever wrote this disparaging comment is an IDIOT!<br />There is plenty to do in Buffalo. We have world class architecture here in the city, we have Lake Erie and excellent fishing swimming and boating. Not to mention shark free waters and sandy beaches. We have the Sabres, the Bisons, world class orchestra and museums. A university system, good schools, health care, and caring people. <br />Come see for yourself before you make stupid comments about our city and metro area!

I'm a Bears fan who lives in Denver. I watch my Bears every Sunday in lower downtown Denver, and see fans of nearly every team (except for pis_s poor fans such as Miami fans-haven't seen one since they were good for more than a year. They'll repopulate next fall for opening day.) Per capita, we have to have the most transplants of any city in America, or have to be close, so I get to see fans from all across the nation. Naturally, I voted for Chicago as #1. The superfans on SNL may have been a skit, but it's not far from reality. Packer fans are almost as loyal, but that doesn't mean I don't still hate their guts. Being objective about fans of other teams, hands down, the most rabid and dedicated fans I see are Pittsburgh fans. These are fat old men who live and die by Steeler football, and they know the game. The most dangerous fans are Oakland fans. Most of them look like they are on weekend furloughs, made bail in time for kickoff, or are on parole with the possibility of 10-15 in the pen being only one bar fight away. Complete degenerates. I do have to give props to Eagle fans, as well. Philly fans tend to be drunker and more abrasive, but they know the game. The most obnoxious, but easiest to shut up? Patriot fans. The new blood brags all the time about how great their team is...right up until someone mentions 18-1. Game over-they can hardly muster up a coherent sentence after that knockout punch. The biggest losers? Jet fans. Undeducated, uncared for in their own city, obnoxious, and haven't won a thing since Joe "I Want to Kiss You" Namath roamed the field. As for Bronco fans, I give them two thumbs up. The state of Colorado doesn't stop and drop everything like we did during the Elway days (of course I watched those late games after my Bears played the early games-he was an incredible QB), but the passion still runs very deep. BEAR DOWN, CHICAGO BEARS!!!

alright all just ignore any rabid bears fans and just get on with it. <br /><br />The New Orleans saints have the second smallest market in the NFL (green bay is the smallest) but unlike green bay the saints have nothing to show for thier 42 year history (it took almost 35 years just to win a playoff game) in thier history the only have winning records against 2 teams (KC and TB) and yet the city has managed to sustain the team now for 42 years if that isnt comitment i dont know what is

I believe the Steeler fanbase maybe the greatest in the world of sports. I was surprised to it ranked #6. Also surprising was that after 45,662 votes the Steelers have 22% of the vote. Appearantly we do know how to use technology Bugsy. Stop drooling out of your toothless mouth and take pride in knowing that you actually touchced on an important point. The reason that the Steeler fanbase is so strong and so wide spread IS because the factories have closed down and the people have had to move to where the job were at that time. Thank you Ronald Reagan. Oh, and by-the-way, it was black and gold, long before the Saints, and before the new-look Rams. Which if I recall correctly where blue and gold in 1980, when the Steelers beat them in a Super Bowl.

I live in Alaska and I'm here to tell ya that the Steeler Nation is indeed alive and well all through the 50 states! We are dear friends with Packer fans be cause we both share enormous passion for our teams. You gotta love those Cheeseheads! I watched the Superbowl this year at a beach bar in Cabo San Lucas, MX and the black and gold were there in force WITH our jerseys with names dating back to Landrey and Bradshaw, but also lots of current team players. I grew up in Pittsburgh during the 70's dynasty with Bradshaw and Rocky Blier and the Steel Curtain. For those of you who made the ignorant comments about our colors, they represent the hard-working gentlemen who produced most of the steel that built this country and the color of that steel when it was in incredibly hot liquid form being poured into whatever structural material was necessary to get the job done. Our team players show true sportsmanship and loyalty to their team long after their retirements. They are in inspiration to thousands of good spirited, folks from Pittsburgh who personify the incredible American work ethic that has made us such a great nation. I am a 50 year old mom and proudly carry my terrible towl and Steeler jersey with me anytime there's a GAME ON!!! So BRING IT!!! . . . and how about our boy TROY!!!
