NFC EAST
AFC EAST
Three of the four teams made the playoffs last season, including the defending Super Bowl champion Giants. Add in a last-place team some think could contend for a Super Bowl. Welcome to the NFL's toughest division.

TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Cowboys: Jerry's put his stamp on Cowboys

  • Giants: Are they legit or a fluke?

  • Eagles: If healthy, look out for McNabb

  • Redskins: Hiding in the shadows
  • For the Patriots to go 16-0 last season, it sure didn't hurt residing in such a weak division in 2007. Guess what Pats: This season should be tougher as all three teams are on the rebound in the league's most improved division.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Bills: Buffalo smelling the playoffs

  • Dolphins: Rebuilding, the Tuna way

  • Patriots: Perfection, Part II?

  • Jets: Brett Favre's final stand
  • NFC NORTH
    AFC NORTH
This division fields two legit NFC contenders, and one other two years removed from a Super Bowl appearance. But in a division where Jon Kitna is the most experienced starting, perhaps in no other division is quarterback such a question mark.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Bears: Fans wondering about Angelo's offense

  • Lions: Will Matt Millen finally win?

  • Packers: A lot riding on Aaron Rodgers

  • Vikings: No Favre, so Jackson's the guy
  • The Steelers have a new worthy division foe, but this Ohio team does not include a wacky wide receiver with Spanish numerals for a name. Instead, Cleveland's Braylon Edwards could be the best WR in the division.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Ravens: Harbaugh brings fresh air

  • Bengals: Can Ocho Cinco stay down?

  • Browns: The trendy division pick

  • Steelers: Where's the beef up front?
  • NFC SOUTH
    AFC SOUTH
In the brief history of this division, no NFC South team has ever repeated as division champion. Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden loves a challenge, and his Bucs will get one from a couple comeback contenders.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Falcons: Arthur Blank starts from scratch

  • Panthers: A real threat with Jake back

  • Saints: Even more weapons for Brees

  • Bucs: Chucky goes for two in a row
  • The Colts have won five straight AFC South titles with the Jaguars nipping at their heels nearly every season. But heading into '08, there's a feeling in J-ville that the Colts may be ripe for the picking.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Texans: Super Mario leads strong defense

  • Colts: Showing signs of wear and tear

  • Jaguars: Optimism running high

  • Titans: Pivotal year for Vince Young
  • NFC WEST
    AFC WEST
Every summer folks fall in love with the Arizona Cardinals, but every fall they disappoint ... often in gruesome fashion. Now with Kurt Warner starting over their QB of the future, are the Cards poised to challenge Seattle for the division crown?

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Cardinals: Is Leinart a lost cause?

  • 49ers: The Niners offense get "Martz"-ed

  • Rams: Healthy Bulger and Jackson helps

  • Seahawks: Sporting huge "west coast" chip
  • Records, awards and endorsements are great. But it wasn't enough to wipe the sting of another tough playoff loss to the Patriots. This year LaDainian Tomlinson's Chargers will settle for a Super Bowl and nothing less.

    TEAM-BY-TEAM PREVIEWS:

  • Broncos: This is Cutler's team now

  • Chiefs: Construction takes time

  • Raiders: Talented on paper, with baggage

  • Chargers: Desperately seeking Super Bowl

Those of you touting the Titans must not be watching Vince Young very closely. He looks like he'll do anything to avoid a hit. Including throwing some of the worst looking passes ever seen.

It's too bad they don't rate the pre-game festivities in each teams parking lot because the Bears would win the Super Bowl. Of course they need to get loaded to walk into Soldier Field and watch their team play....
