Jacobs kept out of Giants clash with Cards
The New York Giants were without their leading rusher in Sunday's critical matchup against the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals.
Brandon Jacobs, who has averaged 5.4 yards per carry this season while scoring 11 touchdowns, was not available for the defending Super Bowl champs Sunday afternoon.Jacobs' absence came as somewhat of a surprise as the fourth-year running back practiced during the week and appeared to be a full go. But Jacobs' knee was still sore when he woke up Sunday morning, and the Giants decided to err on the side of caution and hold their workhorse back out of Sunday's game.
