Veteran CB retires after 10 seasons
Cornerback Fernando Bryant is retiring after 10 NFL seasons, agent Drew Rosenhaus announced Tuesday on his Twitter account.
NFL OFFSEASON
A 1999 first-round pick by Jacksonville, Bryant started 109 games for the Jaguars and Detroit. He joined the Steelers in 2008 and played in two games as a reserve.
Bryant, 32, re-signed with Pittsburgh in the offseason, but had a change of heart about playing in 2009.
The Steelers have enough secondary depth to compensate for Bryant's absence with the offseason signing of veteran Keiwan Ratliff and selection of cornerbacks Keenan Lewis (Oregon State) and Joe Burnett (Central Florida) in the middle rounds of April's draft.
