Tweet nothings: NFL says no to Ochocinco
by FOXSports.com
Chad Ochocinco says he wants to tweet during games, but the NFL says it already has a rule in place against it.
"We already have a rule that prohibits the use of cell phones or other handheld devices in the bench area during games," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told profootballtalk.com in an e-mail.Previously the league had said it would look into the issue after hearing of the brash Bengals' wideout's plans.
Former Falcons coach Jim Mora was fined $25K for using a cellphone on the sidelines during a loss to Tampa Bay on Dec. 24, 2005.
There's still some hope for NFL Twitter fanatics there's no word yet on what will be allowed in the locker rooms at halftime.
Speaking of Ochocinco and Twitter, he posted this message to his feed last night: "Question? If I tweet during the game and they suspend me, would I get paid during my suspension since it's not a legal issue?"
It wouldn't come as a big shock if he finds out sometime this season.
