Colts' Collie severely hurt vs. Eagles

Published Nov. 7, 2010 1:00 a.m. ET

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Austin Collie was injured late in the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field, falling flat to the turf and lying motionless following a vicious — and illegal — hit by Eagles safety Quintin Mikell.

Reports from Philadelphia indicate that Collie had full movement and was sitting up and alert in the locker room. The early diagnosis was a concussion.

Collie was down for at least five minutes and a stretcher was brought onto the field to take him to the locker room. Collie's facemask was removed from his helmet, he was strapped to a backboard and his body was immobilized by the medical staff before the Colts' second-year receiver was loaded onto the cart.

Mikell was flagged 15 yards for unnecessary roughness for the hit, which occurred as part of a collision with Eagles rookie safety Kurt Coleman.

Collie, who has six receiving touchdowns this season, just returned to the Colts' lineup after missing one game because of thumb surgery.
