PLAYER NOTES

-- LB/DE Terrell Suggs has been hit with a $70 million lawsuit by a woman claiming he is the father of her two children and has assaulted her multiple times, according to the Associated Press. Suggs said that although he has nothing to hide he couldn't discuss the case. Candace Williams, 26, is seeking $50 million in punitive damages and $20 million in compensatory damages. Williams also filed a complaint Monday in Baltimore Circuit Court seeking custody of the children.

--QB Joe Flacco has averaged 192 yards passing in six games against NFC opponents, throwing eight touchdowns and six interceptions.

--TE Todd Heap has averaged 43.6 yards receiving in 28 games against the NFC. He has scored eight touchdowns and caught six passes of at least 26 yards.

--WR Derrick Mason has averaged 57.6 yards receiving in 48 games against the NFC. He has scored 18 touchdowns.

--RB Willis McGahee has scored touchdowns in his past two games. But his role as the red-zone back could be decreased because he bounced outside on a run that was designed to go up the middle at the goal line.

--WR Mark Clayton has one or no catches in four of his past five games.

GAME PLAN: The Ravens want to boost the confidence of Joe Flacco and their passing game. That means they will test the Lions, who have the worst pass defense in the NFL.

Defensively, Baltimore needs to get its pass rush on track (one sack in the past three games). The Ravens will come after Daunte Culpepper with a variety of blitzes.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Ravens QB Joe Flacco vs. Lions secondary. Flacco has flourished at home, throwing seven touchdowns and four interceptions. He averages 259 yards passing at M&T Bank Stadium. The Lions have the worst pass defense in the NFL. Seven quarterbacks have thrown for more than 300 yards against Detroit this season.

Ravens run defense vs. Lions RB Kevin Smith. The Ravens allow 3.5 yards per carry, which is best in the NFL. After his only 100-yard game this season, Smith has averaged 52.6 yards rushing in his past nine games.

INJURY IMPACT:

--LB-DE Terrell Suggs (knee sprain) said he will be a game-time decision after being limited all week in practice. He would be replaced by rookie second-round pick Paul Kruger.

--OT Jared Gaither has found different ways to miss practice. Last week it was an illness. This week it's a foot injury. But he is expected to start Sunday.

--FS Ed Reed has a groin injury which is expected to sideline him for a second straight game. He would be replaced by Tom Zbikowski.

--QB Joe Flacco has hip and knee injuries, but he said injuries haven't affected his play. He has yet to miss a practice leading up to a game. He will start Sunday.

--WR Mark Clayton is a game-time decision with a knee injury. Even before this injury, he had been limited to one or no catches in four of his past five games.

--K Billy Cundiff has been limited this week with a mild concussion. He said he doesn't foresee any problems for Sunday.
