Harbaugh: Ravens to target Big Ben

Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Monday he was glad his team broke Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's nose last month, The Baltimore Sun reported.

Harbaugh also said he expected his players to target Roethlisberger in exactly the same way when the two teams meet in Saturday's divisional playoff at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field.

“We’re going to try to get after him like we always do,” Harbaugh said.

“That’s a key to stopping him. You’ve got to get him down. You can’t let him extend plays, and if he does extend plays, you’ve got to cover those guys, and that’s easier said than done.”

Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was fined $15,000 by the NFL for his inadvertent elbow to Roethlisberger's face on December 5 that broke his nose.

Despite the fine, Harbaugh showed no remorse. He also praised the way Roethlisberger played with the injury.

“He’s a tough guy. He had the broken nose. I was glad we broke his nose and then I was very impressed that he played through it. Obviously, you can throw very effectively with a broken nose -- he proved that.”
