Favre inactive vs. Lions

The Minnesota Vikings didn't have starting QB Brett Favre (concussion, neck, right shoulder) for today’s game against the host Detroit Lions. Favre was unable to pass all of the stages of tests in order to get medically cleared for the game.
Favre, who recently reiterated that he plans to retire after the season is over, was replaced by rookie QB Joe Webb for the second straight game.
WR Sidney Rice (concussion) also didn't suit up. WR Bernard Berrian (quadriceps), who was added to the injury report after Saturday's walk-through, was active.
On defense, the Vikings were without starting FS Madieu Williams (concussion), who was placed on injured reserve earlier this week. Backup S Jamarca Sanford started for the second straight game for him. Starting CB Asher Allen (abdomen) was also inactive. The Vikings only dressed four cornerbacks for the game.
