Cardinals ink Darnell Dockett

Flagstaff, AZ (Sports Network) - The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they have signed defensive tackle Darnell Dockett to a contract. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Dockett, the team's third-round selection (64th overall) in this year's draft was the Atlantic Coast Conference's defensive player of the year last season at Florida State. The 6-4, 301-pound Dockett finished his collegiate career by recording 247 tackles (123 solo), 10 1/2 sacks, 64 stops for losses, 68 quarterback pressures, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Last year he recorded 55 tackles (30 solo) with 1 1/2 sacks. "It was very important to get (Karlos) Dansby and Dockett in here because there are so many things going on," said head coach Dennis Green. "Both players are very talented and they fit the kind of scheme we want to run, but if they get too far behind they can't help us." The Cardinals now have all seven 2004 NFL Draft selections signed.
