David Garrard likely out 2-4 weeks

Miami Dolphins quarterback David Garrard’s hold on the starting job just became tenuous. The ninth-year pro will undergo arthroscopic surgery Saturday morning to remove loose bodies from his knee, the quarterback told FOXSports.com.

“Nothing happened. Just ‘Father Time,’ wear and tear,” Garrard said. “They have to take out loose things floating around.”

Garrard, who had moved in front of Matt Moore and rookie Ryan Tannehill as the team’s probable starter, told FOXSports.com that doctors advised him he will have a two to four week recovery period following the surgery.
