George passenger during DUI bust

Published Mar. 7, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

British professional golfer Rachel Connor was busted while allegedly drunk driving in Florida early Wednesday morning, with retired NFL star Eddie George sitting in the passenger seat of her car, TMZ reported.

Connor, 21, who competed on the secondary LPGA Futures Tour in 2011, blew .133 and .137 on breathalyzer tests given by police when she was pulled over at around 2:20am near Sarasota, Fla., 60 miles (96km) south of Tampa.

Citing a police report, TMZ reported that Connor told police she had consumed two vodka and cranberries during the evening and wished she had chosen not to drive.

Sitting next to her was the 38-year-old George -- the former Heisman Trophy-winning running back out of Ohio State University who went on to a successful professional career with the Tennessee Titans franchise. George was not arrested.

Hours before the arrest Connor tweeted a picture of her posing with George at an event, with the byline, "The lovely Eddie George."
