Country pop superstar Faith Hill will lend her vocals to the "Sunday Night Football" theme song for the fifth consecutive season, NBC announced Thursday.

The Grammy winner will sing the show's opening tune,"Waiting All Day for Sunday Night," as the show kicks off Sept. 11, when the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Jets.

"I wait all year for Sunday Night," Hill said in a statement.

"Faith Hill has become a staple of 'Sunday Night Football,'" added the show's producer, Fred Gaudelli. "And in year five she's better than ever."

The song, that welcomes viewers to the network's football broadcast, is set to the melody of the 1988 hit by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, "I Hate Myself for Loving You."

Hill, whose hits include "This Kiss" and "Breathe," is in the studio working on her seventh, as-yet-untitled album.
