Kroy Biermann’s wallet is a little lighter this holiday season.

The Atlanta Falcons defensive end was fined $15,000 by the NFL for an illegal hit on Seattle quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, FOXSports.com has learned.

Biermann was penalized for roughing the passer last Sunday during the fourth quarter of Atlanta’s 34-18 road victory over Seattle.

A three-year NFL veteran, Biermann has 32 tackles and three sacks in his first season as a full-time starter.
