Cowboys, others dangled big-name veterans as trade bait
While the focus on Draft Day is college kids hoping to make their mark on the NFL, it is also littered with veterans who suddenly become trade bait.
FOXSports.com has compiled a list of those players after conversations with several head coaches and general managers. Some players were shopped to all teams, while other were dangled to a select few.
The team dangling the most players was the Dallas Cowboys, who offered up former first-round pick Marcus Spears, former first-round pick Bobby Carpenter and wide receiver Sam Hurd, among others, to the masses. Wide receiver Patrick Crayton was offered to a select few teams.
The Jaguars talked to a few teams about Pro Bowl defensive tackle John Henderson.
The Saints were offering Pro Bowl left tackle Jamaal Brown.
It appears Titans running back LenDale White is also on the market.
The Raiders, as usual, informed teams that nearly anyone on their roster was available. Of course, that's par for the course in Oakland -- they deliver a similar message at each trade deadline.
