Rodgers surpasses Favre in jersey sales
When it comes to what they wear, it looks like Packer fans have officially moved on from Brett Favre.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has moved one spot ahead of the former Green Bay icon in total jersey sales, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Friday.
According to NFLshop.com, Rodgers ranked sixth in total jersey sales from April 1 through Dec. 3, with Favre in seventh place. The 41-year-old Vikings quarterback, who left Green Bay via a trade to the Jets in 2008, is still, however, the all-time leader in total jerseys sold.
Rodgers' play over the past three seasons has made Packer fans quickly forget No. 4 and embrace No. 12. The 27-year-old Rodgers has thrown for 81 touchdowns, compared to just 29 interceptions, in his nearly three seasons as the Packers' starter.
In overall jersey sales for the six-month period, Broncos rookie quarterback Tim Tebow is the leader, despite the fact that the former Heisman Trophy winner has played sparingly this season.
Following Tebow are the Saints' Super Bowl MVP quarterback Drew Brees, the Steelers' hard-hitting safety Troy Polamalu, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.
