The Jaguars continue to tinker with their roster and made six roster changes last week.

They cut veterans Mo Williams, a guard, and Derek Landri, a defensive tackle, because they had been inactive for several weeks.

They activated defensive end James Wyche and cornerback Kennard Cox from the practice squad and signed guard Cameron Stephenson and wide receiver Clarence Denmark to the practice squad.



PLAYER NOTES

--WR Mike Sims Walker missed practice with a calf injury Thursday after being limited Wednesday.

--RB Maurice Jones-Drew returned to practice Thursday after not practicing Wednesday because of a knee injury.

--DT John Henderson returned to practice Thursday after not practicing Wednesday with a shoulder injury.

--CB Rashean Mathis was limited in practice Thursday for the second consecutive day and said he won't know until the pre-game warmups Sunday if he can go with his groin injury.

--DE Julius Williams was limited in practice Thursday for the second consecutive day.

GAME PLAN: Look for the Jaguars to run the ball with Maurice Jones-Drew. He has only one 100-yard game in the last five games, but they need to get the running game going against a Dolphin team that has given up 96 yards for eight consecutive games. Also, if the run the ball, the Miami pass rushers won't be able to take so many shots at quarterback David Garrard, who took a beating against Houston last week.

MATCHUPS TO WATCH: Jaguars C Brad Meester vs. Dolphins NT Paul Soliai. Teams have been getting an inside rush against Meester and he'll face a tough task against Soliai.

Jaguars front seven vs. Dolphins RB Ricky Williams. The Jaguars have a solid run defense and it may be difficult for Williams to make an impact.

INJURY IMPACT: The Jaguars need to get CB Rashean Mathis, who's missed three games back in the lineup. But while he's practicing, they're not sure if he can play. They've won three of them without him, but their secondary is better without him.
