The Oakland Raiders announced the signing of former New York Giants tight end Kevin Boss Friday.

The team has not released the terms of the contract, but the NFL Network reported the 27-year-old Boss signed a four-year, $16 million contract with $8 million guaranteed.

Boss, an Oregon native who played in college at Western Oregon, will replace Pro Bowler Zach Miller, who signed with the Seattle Seahawks Tuesday.

Boss was the starting tight end the past three seasons and also during the playoffs in his rookie year when the team went on to win Super Bowl XLII. Boss had more than 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns in each of the last two seasons for New York.

Boss is expected to be replaced in the Giants' lineup by Travis Beckum, who was drafted in 2009, or Ben Patrick, who was signed by the Giants earlier this week.
