Source: Bucs, ex-Giants RB Ward agree to deal -- 10:01 p.m.

A source told FOXSports.com that the New York Giants running back has agreed to a four-year, $17 million contract with Tampa Bay. Ward will earn $6 million guaranteed in 2009 and salaries over the next two seasons that would raise the three-year value to $13 million. That's a great payday for a running back with only eight career starts in five seasons with the Giants. Tampa Bay could afford it, having entered the signing period with $61 million in cap space available. The team with the most salary cap room entering the free-agent signing period will be allocating some of it to Derrick Ward. Full story ... — Alex Marvez

Reports: Seahawks get Houshmandzadeh -- 9:53 p.m.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh and the Seattle Seahawks have agreed on a five-year contract, according to media reports Monday. Citing unidentified sources, ESPN.com, The NFL Network and the Seattle Post Intelligencer reported on their Web sites that the former Cincinnati Bengals receiver's deal is for $40 million and includes $15 million in guarantees. The 31-year-old Houshmandzadeh has caught 204 passes in the last two seasons. Seattle didn't have a wide receiver catch more than Bobby Engram's 47 last season. The Seahawks had seven injuries at the position while sliding to a 4-12 finish in 2008. — The Associated Press

Dolphins release DE Holliday -- 7:18 p.m.

Defensive end Vonnie Holliday has been released after four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, who have lost three defensive starters this offseason. At 33, Holliday was the Dolphins' second-oldest player. He started 15 games for the AFC East champions in 2008 and led the team's defensive linemen with 46 tackles. He was third on the team with 3.5 sacks. Holliday was scheduled to make $2.8 million in base salary in 2009 and was due a $1.5 million roster bonus Tuesday. — The Associated Press

Lions ink WR Bryant Johnson to deal -- 6:45 p.m.

The Detroit Lions signed free agent receiver Bryant Johnson to a three-year contract on Monday, adding the former first-round draft pick to complement rising star Calvin Johnson. The Lions traded receiver Roy Williams during last season and released receiver Mike Furrey last month. Bryant Johnson had 45 receptions for 546 yards and three touchdowns last year, his only season with the San Francisco 49ers, after five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. — The Associated Press

Titans agree to deals with WR Washington, DT Haye -- 6:38 p.m.

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to deals with ex-Steelers wide receiver Nate Washington and ex-Buccaneers defensive tackle Jovan Haye. "We targeted both of these guys as difference makers for us," Titans general manager said Mike Reinfeldt in a press release. "Nate has shown the ability to stretch the field and be a big-play receiver. He will complement the passing game and brings big-game experience as well. Jovan fits our defensive system with an aggressive one-gap approach; both our personnel folks and coaches were excited about his abilities in our system." The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Washington had 40 receptions for 631 yards and three touchdowns in 2008. Haye notched 40 tackles last season. — FOXSports.com

Niners re-sign fullback Norris -- 6:23 p.m.

The San Francisco 49ers re-signed fullback Moran Norris to a three-year contract Monday, welcoming back the burly run-blocker after releasing him last summer. Norris, an eight-year NFL veteran, played for the 49ers from 2006-07. He was the lead blocker for Frank Gore when the running back led the NFC in rushing with 1,695 yards in 2006, earning a trip to the Pro Bowl. San Francisco dropped Norris after training camp last season because former offensive coordinator Mike Martz's offense didn't make much use of a fullback. Norris signed with the Detroit Lions, starting eight games in their 0-16 season. — The Associated Press

Cards ink S Lewis, re-sign 2 others -- 6:15 p.m.

The Arizona Cardinals have signed free agent safety Keith Lewis to a two-year contract. The team also announced Monday it had re-signed punter Ben Graham to a two-year contract and backup quarterback Brian St. Pierre to a one-year deal. Full story ... — Associated Press

Giants to host Texans safety -- 5:34 p.m.

Houston Texans safety C.C. Brown will take a free-agent visit tomorrow with the New York Giants, a source told FOXSports.com. Brown, 26, has started 44 games in his first four NFL seasons with the Texans. While run support is considered his forte, Brown had eight passes defensed and an interception during the 2007 campaign. He only appeared in three games last season after being placed on injured reserve with a fractured forearm. Full story ... — Alex Marvez

Rams add free-agent CB -- 5:01 p.m.

Free-agent cornerback Ron Bartell has reportedly agreed to a contact with the St. Louis Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The deal is believed to be for four-years and $28 million, including $13.6 million guaranteed. — FOXSports.com

Redskins release DE Taylor-- 4:19 p.m.

The Washington Redskins released veteran DE Jason Taylor on Monday. In 2008, his lone season with the club, Taylor started eight of the 13 games in which he played. He totaled 36 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and nine passes defensed. Washington sent a second-round pick in 2009 and a sixth-round pick in 2010 for Taylor last July. Taylor was on the final year of his contract and a source told Scout.com that the team will save about $6.5 million of cap space with the move. Full story ... — FOXSports.com

Warner in SF to meet -- 3:14 p.m.

Two-time MVP Kurt Warner is taking a physical exam and meeting with the top brass of the San Francisco 49ers, who are in hot pursuit of the free agent quarterback. Warner led the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl last season, but hasn't re-signed with the club. NFC West rival San Francisco has no settled starting quarterback, and the 49ers seem very interested in signing the 37-year-old passer. Full story ... — Associated Press

Report: Pats retain O-lineman -- 2:44 p.m.

The New England Patriots have reached a one-year deal to re-sign OL Russ Hochstein, Scout.com has confirmed. The versatile offensive lineman has played right tackle, center and guard in his seven seasons with the team. The former University of Nebraska Cornhusker was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round of the 2001 draft. — Adam Caplan

Denver strikes again-- 2:34 p.m.

The Denver Broncos signed linebacker Andra Davis Monday as they continue to revamp their defense. He fits in with the Broncos' plans to convert to a 3-4 defense since he played in a similar scheme with Cleveland. Davis spent seven seasons with the Browns, finishing second on the team in tackles in 2008. Full story ... — Associated Press

Report: Pats restructure Moss contract -- 2:25 p.m.

The New England Patriots restructured the contract of WR Randy Moss in order to score salary cap room, according to The Boston Globe.

The Patriots transferred $1.5 million that Moss was slated to earn in 2009 and made it a bonus payment, saving the team about $750,000 against the cap.

Report: T.J. headed back to Cincy? -- 1:41 p.m.

According to an anonymous NFL front office executive, the Bengals have "jumped ahead" of Minnesota in the bidding for T.J. Houshmandzadeh reports The St. Paul Pioneer Press. Meanwhile, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reporting that Houshmandzadeh is still expected to pick a team by today after the WR met with the Vikings all day Sunday.

CB Greer visiting Bucs -- 11:20 a.m.

Free agent CB Jabari Greer is currently visiting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Scout.com has confirmed. Greer visited the Detroit Lions on Saturday and other teams continue to interest in the defensive back and may try to schedule visits for later this week. — Adam Caplan

Report: Rolle wants out of Baltimore? -- 7:16 a.m.

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Samari Rolle told The Baltimore Sun that he wants to be released by the team after being asked to take a pay cut.
