Madonna: Gronk, get your butt out there

Published Feb. 2, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Madonna's pulled hamstring is not going to stop her from performing at Super Bowl XLVI and she said Thursday that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's ankle sprain shouldn't stop him either.

"A lot of people say I'm a masochist," she said, when asked how she would cope with the same injury, according to USA Today. "I would just tape my ankle, take an anti-inflammatory and get my butt out there."

Gronkowski took a limited role in New England's practice Thursday, according to the team's participation report.

Gronkowski, who is recovering from a high left ankle sprain, had not previously participated in practice during the buildup to Sunday's Super Bowl against the New York Giants.

Earlier Thursday, Gronkowski, who is one of New England's top weapons in offense, told reporters he likely would not be 100 percent by Sunday, but was hopeful it would not keep him off the field.

Madonna said she would perform three old hits and one new song during her halftime performance in Indianapolis.

The 53-year-old pop icon said she has felt like an athlete preparing for her appearance at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis on Sunday, after recently injuring her leg.

"I feel like I'm one of the football players right now with all of the physical therapy I have to do, but I'm good," she said, according to NFL.com.
