Doc Talk: Divisional playoff injuries
New Orleans Saints at San Francisco 49ers
Saints WR Lance Moore (hamstring)
Jock to Dock take: The Saints' dynamic wide receiver sat out of practice all week, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and although he has not been ruled out of the game yet, I don’t expect him to play.
Health Rating: Lance Moore @ 50%
Denver Broncos at New England Patriots
Broncos WR Eric Decker (knee)
Jock to Dock take: Decker won’t be in Tim Tebow’s arsenal after he suffered a low hit by James Harrison, according to ESPN.com. He will be available for the 2012 season, but as for now, receivers such as Matt Willis, Eddie Royal and Demaryius Thomas will have to step up in order to match the Patriots' high-powered offense.
Health Rating: Eric Decker @ 0%
Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens
Texans WR Owen Daniels (hand)
The leading receiver this year for the Texans reportedly suffered a hand injury against the Bengals in the wild-card game last week, but according to the Texans’ website he was practicing Thursday in a limited fashion. It looks like he will be on the field on Sunday, but we will watch to see if this hand affects his catching ability.
Texans WR Andre Johnson (hamstring)
Johnson was limited in practice this week, but since he played well last week against the Bengals, I expect him to do the same against the Ravens. He will be on the field Sunday and rookie T.J. Yates will need him and Owen Daniels playing well to defeat the Ravens.
LET'S DO THIS
Can Alex Smith do the unthinkable and lead the Niners to the Super Bowl? Championship round preview.Ravens WR Anquan Boldin (knee)
Boldin will return to the field this week after missing the last two games of the regular season due to knee surgery. He practiced in full on Thursday according to the Carroll County Times, so the Texans secondary will have him to worry about on Sunday.
Health Rating: Owen Daniels @ 77%; Andre Johnson @ 80%; Anquan Boldin @ 85%
New York Giants at Green Bay Packers
Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (foot)
Bradshaw’s ailing foot has kept him out of practice this week and according to the Newark Star-Ledger, has suffered an ailing back this week. However, he is expected to play, and based off his performance the past few weeks, I expect to see the tough guy at his best vs. the Packers.
Health Rating: Ahmad Bradshaw @ 79%
ROAD TO INDY
The Giants and Patriots will kick off Feb. 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET in Indianapolis for Super Bowl XLVI. Want more info?Health Ratings: So what do the numbers mean?
100-85% = NFL players are tough and despite injuries still perform at a high level. Let’s be honest, when is an NFL athlete really physically 100%...practically never. With a rating in this range expect players to perform at peak levels.
70-85% = In this range a players performance will be affected but they can still get the job done.
55-70% = Players with a rating this low will require assistance to do their jobs. The team might be better served by placing these warriors on the inactive list. Only some All-Pro’s can get the job done when rated this poorly.
40-55% = These players need some more time to heal. Unlikely to be active unless miraculous healing occurs or my rating was based on erroneous information.
25-40% = Players will not play but show signs of recovery opening the door for a return to the active roster the following week.
< 25% = Players will not play and there is concern that additional games may be missed.
