Saints' Colston has knee surgery

Published Dec. 30, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

New Orleans Saints starting WR Marques Colston had arthroscopic knee surgery on Tuesday, Saints head coach Sean Payton revealed Thursday.

While Colston hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's regular season finale against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it seems unlikely that he would be able to play. Colston did not practice Thursday.

WR Lance Moore is listed as his backup.

The Saints would earn a first-round bye if they are victorious over the Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons lose at home to the Carolina Panthers.
