Dolphins, Hicks agree to terms
The Miami Dolphins agreed to contract terms Thursday night with guard/tackle Artis Hicks.
FOXSports.com has learned that Hicks received a one-year, $2 million contract that also offers another $500,000 in incentives.
Hicks has 71 career starts in 10 NFL seasons split between Philadelphia, Minnesota, Washington and Cleveland. Hicks will compete to start on the right side of the offensive line with both 2011 starters (guard Vernon Carey and tackle Mark Colombo) having become unrestricted free agents. Hicks also could serve as a valuable swing backup.
Hicks, 33, appeared in nine games with three starts last season for the Browns.
Right tackle Eric Winston, who met with the Dolphins on Wednesday night, took a free-agent visit Thursday to Kansas City.
