Report: Saints' Ingram not hurt in wreck
New Orleans Saints running back and former Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram was involved in a wreck with an 18-wheeler in Huntsville, Ala., early Friday morning.
Ingram and his girlfriend were uninjured after both airbags deployed in his two-door 2008 Infiniti, local news station WAFF reported, although the front wheel on the driver's side of the vehicle showed substantial damage.
The driver of the truck, named as Paul Clewis, was also unhurt in the collision that occurred just before 1 a.m.
Huntsville police said it was their initial understanding that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved.
The NFL rookie, selected 28th by the Saints in the 2011 NFL Draft, had earlier signed autographs with his former Alabama teammate Julio Jones at a Huntsville restaurant.
The 2009 Heisman Trophy winner is the son of former NFL wide receiver Mark Ingram Sr.
