Reports: Giants cut Bradshaw, Canty

New York Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw had the second-best season of his career in 2012. Apparently, that didn’t mean much to the Giants, as they waived the sixth-year running back on Wednesday, according to multiple reports.

Bradshaw, who was due $3.75 million in 2013, will become an unrestricted free agent. Bradshaw racked up more than 1,000 yards on the ground, including six touchdowns, in 2012, but a nagging foot injury caused him to undergo surgery on Feb. 2.

The move didn't surprise Bradshaw, who was drafted in the seventh round in 2007.

"I saw it coming because of the money," Bradshaw told ESPN's Josina Anderson. "Everything is about money, I guess, so, yes, I was expecting it. I'm not discouraged at all. I'm just looking towards getting healthy and working with somebody else. That is all I can do.

"The Giants fans will always be remembered and always be loved. This is where I started, and I just want to thank everybody for their support. Hopefully, I'll be back soon."

This move confirms that the Giants have faith in young running backs David Wilson and Andre Brown.

The team also parted ways with defensive tackle Chris Canty and linebacker Michael Boley.
