Report: Manning to Jets looks unlikely

Peyton Manning to the Jets? Don't get excited.

According to the NFL Network, it doesn't seem likely the legendary QB will suit for Gang Green, if or when the Colts release him. Citing a lack of playmakers in New York and a sagging defense, the Jets don't present an attractive option for Manning.

"I don't think it's very realistic at all, Jason La Canfora said. "Talking to general managers and other people around the league, they don't think Tom Condon, Peyton's agent will ultimately put him with the Jets.

"You have the tabloid culture in New York. You have a team that slipped, the running game wasn't there."

It was also pointed out that having Peyton's brother Eli in the same city also precludes an arrival with the Jets.

Manning has been with the Colts since being selected with the fist pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. He is considered a lock for the Hall of Fame and won a Super Bowl with Indianapolis.
