Report: Charges dropped against Britt

Published Dec. 6, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Prosecutors in Tennessee have dropped charges against Titans wideout Kenny Britt, who had been accused of making false statements on a driver's license application, The Tennessean reported Tuesday.

Britt, 23, surrendered to Nashville police in June on two outstanding warrants connected to the misdemeanor charges of supplying false information on the application.

The New Jersey native and former Rutgers star had multiple run-ins with the law during the NFL offseason. He pleaded not guilty to three charges of disorderly persons offenses in July after being arrested by narcotics officers in Hoboken, N.J. Britt also pleaded guilty to an unrelated careless driving charge in April.

The oft-troubled wide receiver was having a breakout year on the field — averaging an AFC-best 135.5 receiving yards — before he suffered a season-ending knee injury on Sept. 25 against the Denver Broncos.
