Fox: Broncos will add two more QBs

Tim Tebow will still be the starter, but Denver Broncos coach John Fox said Monday he is likely to acquire two more quarterbacks this offseason to compete for the position.

"Numbers-wise, that's accurate," Fox told The Denver Post.

"Who, what, where, when, what market — it's still way too early how we get those quarterbacks."

The Broncos have said in the past that Tebow had done enough last season — when Denver finished 8-8 before losing to the Patriots in the divisional playoffs — to be the No. 1 quarterback going into the new campaign. But the majority of teams bring four quarterbacks to training camp, while the Broncos currently only have Tebow and Adam Weber, who spent his rookie season on the practice squad.

"He's going to come into our camp as the starting quarterback," Fox said of Tebow. "He's young. He can get better."

Tebow, 24, has been working on his throwing action with UCLA quarterbacks coach Noel Mazzone recently, as players cannot meet with their own coaches until April 16.

Fox endorsed the move, saying he did not believe the techniques Mazzone taught him would be counterproductive to those he learned under Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and quarterbacks coach Adam Gase.

"I mean this isn't rocket science," Fox said. "I think it's great. It beats sitting on the couch somewhere."
