AFC East rivals work out together
The NFL lockout was making friends of on-the-field enemies Saturday, with players from the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets set to join forces for preseason training.
Jets linebacker Bart Scott and offensive lineman Vlad Ducasse were teaming up with Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, cornerback Benny Sapp, defensive tackle Randy Starks and running back Daniel Thomas for drills and conditioning this week at Florida Atlantic University, Newark, N.J. newspaper The Star-Ledger reported.
The show of solidarity from the AFC East rivals at the TEST Football Academy in Boca Raton, Fla., was a substitute for the team facilities the players were barred from using during the ongoing legal dispute over the collective bargaining agreement.
Bills receiver Donald Jones, free-agent cornerback Al Harris and former Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse were also scheduled to attend the "lockout camp," which already has a dedicated Facebook page.
"This is the one time these guys will be working together toward something," TEST founder Brian Martin said. "They'll be battling against each other in a couple months, so it's a perfect set-up."
