Former Patriot tries to explain calling Manning better than Brady

Move over, Tom Brady. Aqib Talib has a new favorite quarterback.

Talib, who signed with the Denver Broncos as a free agent this offseason, picked his new teammate, Peyton Manning, over Brady when asked who is the better signal-caller.

“You gotta go Peyton Manning,” Talib said Friday on NFL Network. “Tom is a good friend of mine. What’s up Tom, baby? (Manning) had an awesome year. He tore it up. He like set the record for touchdowns. He beat Tom in the AFC Championship. You gotta give it to Peyton. Tom know that’s my dog, man; he know.”

Talib played with Brady and the Patriots for one-and-a-half seasons after being traded by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in November 2012.

Talib has reason to be ticked at the Patriots, since they chose to sign All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis over him this offseason. Talib was voted No. 79 on NFL Network’s Top 100 Players of 2014 list by his peers.

“Bill (Belichick) sure didn't want to give me that money, so -- hey, man, he gave it to Revis," Talib said.
