Browns ship LB Wimbley to Oakland

Wimbley's career with the Browns started off well after he was selected in the first round of the 2006 draft. He posted 11 sacks as a rookie, but totaled only 16.5 over the next three seasons. Wimbley started and played in 63 out of 64 regular-season games for the Browns. The only game he missed was in 2009 because of flu-like symptoms.
With the Raiders, there's a pretty good possibility he will move to defensive end because Oakland runs a 4-3 scheme. Wimbley played only end at Florida State, but moved to outside linebacker in Cleveland's 3-4 scheme.
A source said the final season of Wimbley's six-year rookie deal will void, but there's a $7.765 million buyback for 2011. Wimbley is set to make $1.065 million in base salary for 2010.
