Report: Carson Palmer set to sell house
Disgruntled Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer is preparing to put his home up for sale, WCPO -TV reported Wednesday.
A local real estate agent confirmed to the station that preparations are being made to have Palmer's home on the market as early as March.
"He's not coming back", according the agent who reportedly spoke with the veteran quarterback on Wednesday.
It has been widely reported that Palmer plans to retire if the Bengals fail to honor his trade request after eight seasons in Cincinnati.
Cincinnati Bengals president Mike Brown has reportedly turned down the trade request made last month.
Palmer's agent David Dunn issued a statement at the time saying his client believes the window for achieving success in Cincinnati has come and gone.
"[Brown and Palmer] both expressed profound disappointment in how the team fared last season, and in how it has generally performed during Carson's tenure with the team," Dunn's statement read.
"Because of the lack of success that Carson and the Bengals have experienced together, Carson strongly feels that a separation between him and the Bengals would be in the best interest of both parties," he added.
Palmer is under contract with Cincinnati through 2014. He was said to be disillusioned amid growing fan frustration at his performances during the Bengals' disappointing 4-12 season.
The 31-year-old threw for 3,970 yards with 26 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. He ranked 19th among quarterbacks with an 82.4 passer rating — his lowest full season rating since his first year as a starter in 2004.
