Ochocinco robbed for Starbucks card

Published May. 23, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocinco claims he had his credit cards, driver's license and iPod stolen from his SUV on Wednesday, but was worried about only one thing: his Starbucks card.

Ochocinco was headed to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., to use the weight room Wednesday morning but was informed he could not get access due to restrictions in the new collective bargaining agreement.

Instead he went to have breakfast at IHOP. When he returned to his Cadillac Escalade, he allegedly found it had been broken in to, the Boston Herald reported.

Ochocinco then took to Twitter, listing his stolen belongings in a two-minute video, where it was evident he only really cared about his Starbucks gold card.

"I earned the gold card," Ochocinco said. "You know how many coffees I've had to drink and lemon loafs I've had to purchase to get to that gold card? Like, I had $220 left on my Starbucks card. Not just any Starbucks card, but a gold Starbucks card."

Ochocinco's day took a positive turn when one of his Twitter followers said her mother had found his wallet in Providence, R.I., and that it still contained his credit cards and license.

The Starbucks card, however, was not recovered.

The company eventually came to the rescue, tweeting that they would send him a replacement.
