Report: Colts WR Brazill suspended entire season for violating substance abuse policy
LaVon Brazill missed the Indianapolis Colts’ first four games last season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Now, the third-year wide receiver has been suspended the entire season without pay for the same charge, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Brazill was only targeted 27 times and had 12 receptions for 161 yards last season, but made some big-time plays in the postseason.
Brazill was selected in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft and was penciled in to play behind a deep crop of talent at the wide receiver position. This offseason, general manager Ryan Grigson significantly beefed up the wide receivers room by adding Hakeem Nicks — via free agency — and drafting Donte Moncrief in the third round.
Aside from the new additions, veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne is on schedule to return from ACL surgery.
