The Denver Broncos appear to be trying to lock up Peyton Manning's No. 1 target.

The team has offered wide receiver Demaryius Thomas a five-year contract, according to multiple reports. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Thomas led the Broncos with 92 receptions, 1,430 yards and 14 touchdowns last year, helping Denver reach the Super Bowl. Thomas was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl last season.

Thomas, who was drafted in the first round by Denver in 2010, is entering the final year of his current contract.

The Broncos are also in preliminary contract talks with tight end Julius Thomas but no formal contract has been offered, The Denver Post reports.

"I definitely would be open to working something out with the Denver Broncos," Julius Thomas told the Post on Friday. "I don't really understand how these things work. I'll let Frank (Bauer, his agent) and Mr. (John) Elway take care of it."

Julius Thomas finished last season with 65 receptions for 788 yards and 12 touchdowns.
