WR Johnson will start for Lions

Published Nov. 4, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

All-Pro receiver Calvin Johnson is active and starting for the Detroit Lions.

Johnson missed practice all week with a left knee injury and had been listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Jacksonville.

Receiver Mike Thomas, traded from the Jaguars to Detroit on Tuesday, also is active.

The Lions will be without three defensive starters: linebacker DeAndre Levy and safeties Amari Spievey and Louis Delmas. Spievey and Delmas were ruled out Friday. Eric Coleman and Ricardo Silva will start in their place, giving Detroit its eighth different starting secondary in as many games.

The Jaguars are without running back Maurice Jones-Drew, safety Dwight Lowery, cornerback Rashean Mathis, fullback Greg Jones and running back Montell Owens. All five were ruled out Friday.
