Donovan McNabb: Sitting in a car doesn't make you an athlete
Donovan McNabb played quarterback in Philadelphia for 10 years. So, he's not backing down from anything, not even tough questions from FOX Sports 1's Mike Hill on "Keepin' it Real with Mike Hill."
In case you missed it, McNabb made some noise this week when he said that NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson is "absolutely not" an athlete after the latter clinched his sixth Sprint Cup championship.
So, Donovan: Just so we're clear, do you still feel that way?
"Well, this is the problem. I didn't personaly call Jimmie Johnson a non-athlete. I said NASCAR drivers," McNabb said. "Athletes are people who train, who do physical things, who are on strength, endurance and stamina. But most importantly, get out and do athletic things. Now, sitting in a car is not doing athletic things.
"They can work out, they can go run on a treadmill, they can run triathlons, but that doesn't make you an athlete sitting in car."
Hear that?
Looks like NASCAR Nation and Donovan will have to agree to disagree on this one.
Hill also asks FOX Sports Live's favorite quarterback about Freddie Mitchell and Rush Limbaugh's infamous diatribe about the media searching to make a darling out of a black quarterback.
Donovan also delivered the line of the show when Hill asked him whether or not he drew unfair criticism because he was a black quarterback.
"Abso-f******-lutely."
